Virginity
Anyone who has never engaged in penetrative sex is believed to be a virgin. For women, the technical definition of virginity lies in the hymen. If a woman’s hymen is intact, she is believed to be a virgin; if her hymen is broken, she is not considered a virgin. However, this common perception does not always hold true since a hymen can break for various reasons. Some women are also born without hymens.
Virginity is as important as you believe it to be. While some believe that it’s important to abstain from sex until marriage, others do not. Often, there is more social pressure on women than on men to remain virgins until marriage. Your virginity is your own – do with it what you want.
